Meet Lenny

Animal Profile:  Lenny is an adorable 5-year-old, 36 lb Cocker Spaniel Heeler mix who is super adorable and quirky. He is well trained -- house trained and crate trained with basic obedience training too. He gets along well with dogs of all genders and sizes. He can be nervous meeting new people but warms up quickly with a game of fetch, which he loves. He thrives with structure or otherwise is prone to anxiety. He will benefit from a dog savvy home. He loves to play and cuddle and will make a fun-loving companion. Foster Notes: Lenny is an awesome boy whose tail is always wagging with enthusiasm at home! He does well in his crate, is house trained, good on a leash, and knows basic commands. He knows how to sit and heel. He is treat motivated and eager to please his people. Lenny loves to play fetch and catch with his tennis ball! He brings the ball right back to his handler and is always ready for more. Lenny is sweet and submissive with the three other dogs in his foster home, and is such a love bug with his people. He is unsure of children, so he is looking for a home without kids of any age.  He is also slow to warm up to new people and can sometimes be reactive, so he needs a family that is willing to work on his training and socialization. He is SO smart and would be a great partner for someone wanting to pursue more advanced training with their dog. This boy needs a strong leader who will give him a job to focus on and tell him what to do! Lenny would do best in a home with a dog savvy family who can provide him with consistent structure and rules to help build his confidence. Adopter Profile: Dog experience required Single family residence required Other dogs OK Can be tested with cats upon request No kids Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $400, which includes spay/neuter, current rabies/DAPPV/bordetella vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and heartworm test. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue.  Apply online at www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History: This dog was rescued from euthanasia at a high-kill shelter in California in December 2018, adopted in February 2019 and returned to DGS in May 2022. He is current in foster care in Seattle and available for adoption.
