Meet Steve "Shem" Buscemi

Steve "Shem" Buscemi is a 15mo, medium-high energy, neutered male, semi-sassy, designer mixed breed, about 15-20#. His non traditional grin will charm you from the start. .   Though Shem is young, he has had an amazing start in training (i.e. games, positive reinforcement, etc.), and these methods will be simple to carry on for his new family, so stock up on treats, snuffle mats, Kongs, Squirrel Dudes, lickmats and the like, grab your treat bags and get ready to bond! There is still much for him to learn and he loves training, catches on quickly and is a fun partner. .   Shems' claims to fame are his stellar recall and his proximity training. This is serious training that is already onboard. He comes when called, and fast, every time (please continue to heavily reinforce this behavior)! He sticks around, he is currently on unfenced forest land, and there are no worries that he is roaming. Though he is a curious fellow and will explore his environment thoroughly, he doesn’t run off. Steve has a good disengagement history, he can be called away from most things easily. .   Shem has enjoyed the benefits of living in pet-level homes his entire life, his reinforcement history is positive and given the time to decompress and the investment in where he struggles, his potential may be limitless. Children over 12 please. .   He has been fed a fresh, whole, raw, species appropriate diet from weaning, and it would be best to continue this for his health and well being. He has a “strong” gut (not prone to GI distress), loves a varied diet and is fully vetted. .   Shem comes with behavior support from Intuitive Communications/Dog Nerds Behavior primarily, and Safe Dogs By The River supplementary. .   This is a courtesy post, a collaborative effort with Intuitive Communications, the original source for this lovely pup.
