Meet Grüner/Rippy

Grüner/Rippy has the most mushy personality you can imagine. If he had a car it would be covered with stickers like “Make love, not war”, “To know me is to love me”, “Give peace a chance”….and maybe “I can’t believe I ate the whole thing”. He is soft without being anxious. He is very easy to manage and generally easy to live with and he only keeps getting better as he matures. Grüner/Rippy frequently goes with his foster mom to places that serve food and/or beverages and allow dogs. Grüner/Rippy is great with other dogs. He is respectful and very good when meeting new dogs. At the dog park he was described by someone as the gentlest, calmest husky mix they had met in a long time. He loves to meet up with his buddies for play dates or have another fairly playful dog in the home. Toys are a must for this youngster; he loves having things to carry around and/or chew on. He will play fetch now and again. Grüner/Rippy is surprisingly good at not pulling on leash when out for walks. He has no problem walking on the Greenbelt or other place where he has to pass runners, scooters, other dogs etc. Most of the time he does fine when hiking off leash with his foster family and stays with the pack though he still shows a bit of the husky independence regarding coming when called. He rides well in a car. He has lived with cats just fine. Grüner/Rippy was one of the litter we named The Winos. His adopters called him Rip which we have tweaked. Due to unforeseen circumstances the family had to rehome him. They had children and another dog and he was great with them all. He was born June 23, 2022. He has Siberian husky, Alaskan malamute, German shepherd and more according to his siblings’ DNA tests. Grüner/Rippy’s Achilles heel is being home alone though he has done great on his training of this and now does quite well. He would do great for someone working from home as he just lies around. He seems to benefit from having a furry friend when home alone. He is crate trained but gets claustrophobic when locked in it by himself. He does however happily sleep in a crate at night whether it is open or closed. While Rippy is a young dog that needs regular activity he doesn’t need all that much exercise. Adoption Process
Our adoption process is first filling out a pre-adoption application. once we receive a background check, home check, and fence line check are done. Once that has been done then we contact you and talk about who your interested in and set up a meet and greet. All humans and other canines must meet. If the meet and greet go well and the potential adopters want to move forward to adoption trial they can. We do a mandatory two week trial. At the end of the trial should the potential adopters want to finalize then we proceed by the adoption agreement filled out, adoption fee paid, all medical records given and transfer the chip. We also have an adopters group that we love people to join so we can stay in touch with our furry friends and see their adventures.
