Look at this eye candy! No doubt Pax turns heads but there is much more to him than just looks. He is also a goofy boy with love in his heart. He is smart and very willing to listen to and learn from experienced people that know how to help and guide him. Pax is clueless about some things like personal space and certain house manners but really good about other such as house training and taking breaks in his crate. Pax is basically looking to make friends with everyone when introduced right but can be reactive at first meeting because he is insecure. Once settled he is a giant love bug. He is an 8-month-old (as of the beginning of February) long-haired German shepherd. Pax does well with small dogs but lively, big dogs are a bit much for him. He is great with cats and kids. What brought him into our rescue was that the owners couldn't afford to pay the medical bill when Pax swallowed a towel and it had to be removed surgically. It is important that he is given enriching activities in his new home such as sniff walks and appropriate games, and we highly recommend dog sports such as Nose Work, Barn Hunt, and Rally. He came to us very thin and with little muscle tone, but he is already starting to gain both weight and strength; continued basic physical activity is a must together with proper diet. Adoption Process
Our adoption process is first filling out a pre-adoption application. once we receive a background check, home check, and fence line check are done. Once that has been done then we contact you and talk about who your interested in and set up a meet and greet. All humans and other canines must meet. If the meet and greet go well and the potential adopters want to move forward to adoption trial they can. We do a mandatory two week trial. At the end of the trial should the potential adopters want to finalize then we proceed by the adoption agreement filled out, adoption fee paid, all medical records given and transfer the chip. We also have an adopters group that we love people to join so we can stay in touch with our furry friends and see their adventures.
