Underdogs Rock! Rescue

We are a small Portland, Oregon based 501c3 organization rescuing dogs from the over crowded shelters in Southern California, Alabama, and Hawaii. We foster the dogs until they are healthy and help them find their forever homes! Contact us at [email protected] work directly with Rescue Groups in Southern California to rescue dogs who are on their last days in the high-kill shelters. Because our dogs are in Foster Homes we get to know the dogs personalities and needs. As we know the dogs well and how they do in a home environment, we do a great job in matching families with the right dog, and the right family for the dog!

Meet Napoleon

Napoleon is a young at heart 8yr old, 13lb, happy go lucky boy. And an absolute doll! He’s so very sweet and gentle. He loves people and will cuddle with you on the couch all night without moving a muscle. When not snuggling, he can be very playful, bouncing around and chasing toys. He’ll even break out into the cutest zoomies. He enjoys having his people engage in play with him, but is also just as able to entertain himself if you’re busy. He’s been learning to walk on leash and is getting the hang of it. He’s got the house training down. He’ll sleeps in his crate through the night without any fuss. He’s even fine hanging out in his crate for a bit if you need to step out without him. And while he hasn’t displayed separation anxiety, he really would be happiest if he could go along on outings and wasn’t frequently left alone for long periods.  A calmer environment suites him best, so a home with young active kids would probably not be the right pair up. Older gentle small dog savvy kids would be ok as it would mean more potential snuggle time. He'd be ok in a home with another small sized well balanced female dog who wouldn’t want to attach herself to him all the time, but would be up for some playtime now and then. He would also do well in a home without a dog as his true love is humans he can snuggle with. Napoleon is going to make the most amazing companion for a person/family looking for a furry friend who is always up for snuggles, but not overly needy. And whose playful antics can be quite entertaining. He does have a dermatology condition, DLE, makes his nose sensitive to the sun. He has a ointment that goes on his nose for this. And when sun can't be avoided (like out on walks) he should have sunscreen on to help protect his nose.  If you think you and Napoleon could be a love match please complete an online Underdogs Rock Rescue adoption application to see about a meet with this handsome little man   https://underdogsrock.org/adoption-application Napoleon is neutered, microchipped, tested heartworm/tick disease negative, and up to date on vaccinations and preventative.
