Underdogs Rock! Rescue

We are a small Portland, Oregon based 501c3 organization rescuing dogs from the over crowded shelters in Southern California, Alabama, and Hawaii. We foster the dogs until they are healthy and help them find their forever homes! Contact us at [email protected] work directly with Rescue Groups in Southern California to rescue dogs who are on their last days in the high-kill shelters. Because our dogs are in Foster Homes we get to know the dogs personalities and needs. As we know the dogs well and how they do in a home environment, we do a great job in matching families with the right dog, and the right family for the dog!

Meet Georgie

Hello, my name is Georgie. I look like a Maltese mix who is around 5-6 years old and I weigh 13 pounds.  I'm friendly and outgoing once I know you are okay.  I like to run in the yard and play with my toys.  I am  house trained  and crate trained too! I like my foster's granddaughter a lot and would do well with kids over 7 years of age.  I can be a little scared of new people, especially men,  if my foster mama isn't around but when she's there I'm okay.  I'm getting pretty great on walks, but that said I do get a bit too interested in other animals around our neighborhood like squirrels and other dogs.  We are working on my leash skills though, and this will be something my new family will need to continue.  If you are new to dog training we have many fear/force free trainers we can recommend! My foster mama says I'm very funny.  I like puzzles games, the game "find it" and am learning wait, sit and I'm doing very well with these new to me things.  I love having the zoomies and a yard would be super great for me! I'm a great snuggler but also am cool with alone time too.  I am a dog who requires grooming and my foster mama has noticed I need a trim about every 6 weeks or so to keep me looking and feeling my best.  If you are willing to be patient with me while I continue my training and socializing, I'm ready to meet you - my forever family! Underdogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. Adoption fee is $380. He is being fostered in NE Portland. You MUST have an Underdogs Rock Rescue application on file to request a meet with an Underdog. An online Underdogs Rock adoption application can only be accessed at  https://underdogsrock.org/adopt-a-dog  . You must be available to meet an Underdog in their foster's location and dogs are not held for applicants or shipped outside of the Portland metro area. Home checks are also part of the process and will be conducted virtually. For updates on all the Underdogs be sure to follow the Underdogs Rock Rescue Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/UnderdogsRockRescue
