This sweet little scruffer is named Milo! He is 2 years old and weighs in at around a slight 9 pounds. He can be timid with new people, but once he trusts you, he bonds like glue! This handsome little fella would LOVE to be adopted by an active person especially if it came with another playful dog friend around his size to pair up with. Milo absolutely LOVES car rides, so we jokingly say that he needs to get adopted by a trucker because riding shotgun is by far his favorite activity and place to be! Milo’s other favorite things include daily walks, running and playing in the backyard with toys or another dog, or indoor play if it’s wet or cold outside. He enjoys chewing on Bullibone brusher chews and always looks forward to treat time. He loves regular dog treats, but he also loves fresh fruit (small pieces of banana, pear, apple, watermelon, etc. - pears are Milo’s FAVORITE!) He also lives for snuggle time on the sofa, loves being held, belly rubs, and scratches all over. And he will show his appreciation by plying you with lots of sweet kisses. Milo is the perfect combination of playful and chill. Milo’s house training is coming along and does well when kept on a routine and taken out regularly. He knows how to use a doggy-door, but still needs supervision. He is being fostered with 2 small resident dogs and does great with them, but he would do equally well in home without another dog. Cats are unknown, but he hasn’t displayed any reaction toward them when he sees them on walks. He sleeps well in a crate at night in his foster mom’s bedroom, but he will require continued crate training if you need to leave him alone in a crate during the day for short periods of time. Milo will respond to his name, comes when called, and reacts appropriately with positive encouragement and gentle discouragement. He understands basic commands such as: “no,” “off,” “sit,” and “wait” & “cross” (like at a crosswalk). “Stay,” “come,” “go potty,” and “go poo-poo” are also coming along. Milo will require regular brushing of his coat to keep up his stellar scruffy good looks and to prevent matting, as well as regular nail trims. He will also probably need partial grooming on a regular basis (sanitary trim and trimming the hair around his eyes, mouth, and feet), and full grooming as needed. He does well with bathing. Milo is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. He is being fostered in Washougal, WA. His adoption fee is $425. Don’t miss your opportunity to see about a meet with the darling boy. To request a meet please complete an online Underdogs Rock Rescue adoption application at https://underdogsrock.org/adoption-application As we are sure you are already aware, there is respiratory illness, with unknown cause, impacting dogs right now. We have furry family members of our own, so we understand the concern this could cause. As a 100% foster based rescued we hope it eases your mind to know that available Underdogs have a mandatory holding time in a local foster home before becoming available for adoption. Milo has been in a local foster home for over 3 weeks with no signs of illness.
