Underdogs Rock! Rescue

We are a small Portland, Oregon based 501c3 organization rescuing dogs from the over crowded shelters in Southern California, Alabama, and Hawaii. We foster the dogs until they are healthy and help them find their forever homes! Contact us at [email protected] work directly with Rescue Groups in Southern California to rescue dogs who are on their last days in the high-kill shelters. Because our dogs are in Foster Homes we get to know the dogs personalities and needs. As we know the dogs well and how they do in a home environment, we do a great job in matching families with the right dog, and the right family for the dog!

Meet Solecito

Meet little ray of sunshine Solecito, or Sol for short. She’s a lovely 3 year old lady with an inquisitive and exploratory streak in her. She may be on the smaller side at 14Lbs, but is a sturdy girl who could adapt to a variety of living situations….well except one with cats. While her breed mix is unknown, she has some looks and characteristics that bring to mind a Jack-a-Poo, Poodle/Jack Russell mix. Simply adorable! She is both boisterous and calm – dashing around the yard and loves going out for walks, then just as happy to snuggling up against you for cuddles and some down time in the home. When her energy is balanced out with adequate exercise, she's a calm, gentle, sweetheart inside. Sol has a good handle on housetraining as long as she gets frequent and consistent potty breaks. She’s a great size for traveling around with, and good in the car. She likes to follow her person around, but if she has to be left alone for short periods of time she’s done well, no destructive behaviors. She’s not a crate fan, but that’s ok as her foster hasn’t found a need use one with her. She’s friendly around new people. She has fostered with small dog savvy kids and been fine. She could do equally well paired up with another playful dog around her size, or as the only dog in a home. Something to be aware of, as much as she loves her walks, she has shown some dog reactivity on leash. It is not unmanageable given her size, but an adopter will have to be comfortable helping her work past this. While her size could make her suited for apartment living, an apartment situation (or any unfenced yard situation) would only work if she received extra walks and activity time to counter not having a fenced yard to roam around and explore in.  And, while not overly vocal, she will make use of her voice every now and then. Sol is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. Her adoption fee is $480. She is being fostered in NE Portland. Think Sol has the potential to be the perfect canine addition to your family? If so, please complete an Underdogs Rock Rescue online adoption application to see about a meet. An online Underdogs Rock adoption application can only be accessed at https://underdogsrock.org/adopt-a-dog    You must be available to meet an Underdog in their foster's location and dogs are not held for applicants or shipped out of the area. Home checks are part of the adoption process. PLEASE NOTE: Solecito’s actual breed mix is unknown. Any stated breed mix is nothing more than a guess at a breed that has looks at temperament least somewhat similar to her.   For updates on all the Underdogs be sure to follow the Underdogs Rock Rescue Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/UnderdogsRockRescue
