Meet Honey

Meet Honey! She was rescued by a Sheriff's deparment in Oklahoma where she was found terribly neglected and emaciated. She was at least 40 lbs underweight when we got her in. She's about 125 lbs now but still has another 20 or so go to. The Vet estimates her at about 4 years old. In foster care, Honey is learning basic commands as she knows none. She walks pretty well on a leash and recall is also good. We use a slow feeder bowl for her; like most of our starved dogs she eats so fast and so this helps with that. Like most Mastiffs, she is very velcro. She is crate trained (we leave it open all the time and she will go in voluntarily now and lay down for naps) and doesn’t chew on anything. She's not played with toys yet but sometimes that just takes time, especially if they've never had a dog toy before!Honey is a little too much for young children but kids 7 and over would be OK! She lives with 2 other Mastiffs currently; small dogs and cats are an unknown at this time. She definitely a drooler so have those drool towels ready!Other than being starved and having some cysts removed, Honey seems in good health and thankfully tested negative for heartworms!Honey is being fostered in Shawnee, OK.

Look for other dogs for adoption!
