Meet Hazel GDP

Meet Hazel, a charming and affectionate almost eight-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier mix whose warm brown coat and soulful eyes are only outmatched by her loving personality! Hazel is a snuggle enthusiast who's happiest when curled up beside her favorite humans, soaking up attention and gentle pets. Despite her senior status, Hazel still has plenty of pep in her step and enjoys leisurely walks twice a day. She's especially fond of lounging around the house and chewing on deer antlers, making her the perfect companion for someone who loves quiet evenings and cozy moments. Her mellow energy means she's content to relax, but she's also ready for short bursts of playtime when the mood strikes! Hazel knows basic commands like sit and come and is reliably house-trained, making her an easy addition to most homes. She handles baths like a pro, and her short, sleek coat is low-maintenance, only needing an occasional wash and brush. Hazel's vaccinations and heartworm treatments are up to date, and she's spayed, ensuring she's ready to start her next chapter with a new family! While Hazel is generally friendly with other dogs, she absolutely needs a home without cats. Her instincts make it clear that feline roommates aren't the right fit for her, so her ideal family will be one that can provide a cat-free environment where she can relax. Hazel's sweet and gentle demeanor makes her a great match for families with children, especially those who enjoy giving belly rubs and sharing soft blankets. Could Hazel be the snuggle buddy you've been dreaming of? Reach out today to learn more about welcoming Hazel into your home and heart! If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt. Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $300.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Hazel is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.

Adoption Process
An adoption application and home visit are required for adoption. Adoption fees are $200 for dogs and $250 for puppies.
