Meet Chunk GDP
We didn't name the puppies until we'd had them for a couple weeks as a way to keep track of them. Chunk got his name because he would eat dinner, then he would walk over to a patch of grass and flop over onto his side like he was too full to go on. It's come to be a very fitting name. He's a chubby boy! Chunk is very outgoing. He is probably the most affectionate of all the puppies, which is saying something because they're all very affectionate. Chunk's kryptonite is a good belly rub! He will run up to you, and as soon as your hand reaches down to pet him, he's on his back, little legs kicking in the air, chubby belly waiting for rubs! He is playful and loves everyone. He does well with cats and is friendly with other dogs. His foster home has children (ages 13, 9, and 6) and he does well with all of them. Chunk loves to be held and snuggled, he loves to run and play chase, and he loves toys and bones. He is very active and will do best in a home with a yard large enough for him to run and with a family that will take him on walks. He is well socialized with his littermates, and he will do well being socialized with other friendly dogs from a young age. He plays with our cats, and will do well with cats as he gets older if he is around them often enough to not be overly excited when he sees one. Chunk has a less dominant disposition than some of the other puppies, and he is not aggressive. The 8 puppies that we found (our neighbors found #9 and kept her) are fed together, and none of them are food aggressive. There was a little food aggression when we first brought them home, but we've had them for over a month now, and they realize that there is enough food for everyone, so the aggression that was displayed by a couple of them has stopped completely. The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $300.00 and that includes their vaccinations, spay or neuter, rabies and microchip. To start the process please visit our website and fill out the adoption application (www.dfwrescueme.org) and from there the foster family can answer any questions and arrange a time to meet. Chunk is participating in the DFW Rescue Me guest dog program, so ongoing care and custody is provided by her foster, not by DFWRM.
Adoption Process
An adoption application and home visit are required for adoption. Adoption fees are $200 for dogs and $250 for puppies.
