Breed: French Bulldog / Adoption fee is $500 / Sex: Neutered Male / Age: 3yrs / Weight: est 22 pounds Please read, this boy isn't for every household. Rescue will carefully review applications, and dog/human training is required after adoption at the adopters expense. Hi my name is Blue. This is my story of why I am in rescue rehab. I found myself facing euthanasia at the young age of 10 months old. I was behaving poorly with my original family. You see, the other female adult Frenchie in my home was very mean to me as a puppy, as I got older, I started fighting back. Sometimes my people would get a bite because I was so amped up during a fight, I would bite them. The doorbell also sends me into a frenzy, and I have bitten feet in these situations. Something about that sound makes me loose my brain. I was surrendered to a rescue and came to a dog trainer in fall of 2023, I was loaded with naughty behaviors that were indirectly reinforced in my first home and a part of my genetics and breed. Being a 10 month old youngster I was doing my best to learn how to be nice to other dogs and share and not get some amped up with any excitement. Once I came into my maturity at 1.5 yrs a few other behaviors showed up, so I didn’t get cleared for adoption. Then my current caretakers said they wanted to wait until after the holidays. We thought there was a lead for me being a trucking dog, but that fell through. So here I am it’s already 2025 and I am almost a 3yrs old big boy now, I am looking for my new human that can handle my quirks and use my training to keep me out of trouble because I still need help in that department some times. I would love to find a human that likes to play fetch with me, my smooshy face makes it tough to breath so I need my human to make me stop sometimes and rest. I promise to entertain you and make you laugh that is my best trait. I do well with self-entering with my toys. I enjoy car rides, and walks and snuggles and balls, lots of balls… please get me a ball. Due to my quirks you will need to be my leader and not my giver or things will not go well in our relationship. I would love to find a home in the Edmond, OK or OKC metro area, OK, so my family can work with the trainer who kept me from being unadoptable or unmanageable. I could be in a home with select dogs, but it would require more management of my behaviors. I would be content as the only dog without the pressure of the other dogs. More details about me: House Manners: House trained but use to a doggie door access. Will have potty accidents when stressed in new areas if not monitored, but not when crated. No urine marking issues, but stress pooping. Basic Training: Knows, Sit, Down, Off, Stay, Wait, Leave It, Away, Come, Quite, Outside, Potty, Settle, Walk, Yes, "Ahh Ahh" (No), Watch me, Touch, Kennel, Muzzle trained, Find it and others Other Dogs: Dog selective, best as a only dog. Views new dogs as a threat and needs slow intragrations (no dog parks). Fighting with other dogs would be a concern in a home. He is around other dogs and plays at the foster home. But there are triggers of excitiemnt that can cause him to get overstimulated and start fights. (doorbells). Cats: Fine with cats but will pester them from time to time. Especially if the cats are being frisky. Kids: Due to his behavioral and bite history no young kids under 15 years old is ideal. Fencing: Not an escape artist, can’t be outside long in hot weather above (85F) The adoption fee is $500.This dog has had its age-appropriate Vaccinations brought up to date with Rabies shot (4 m & older), heartworm tested (4 m & older) and/or started on prevention, basic de-wormer, spayed or neutered and microchipped with free registration. Important PLEASE read if interested in adoption: We have a pretty open adoption policy, apartments, unfenced yards, and young kids are okay, but only if the pet you are interested in is a good fit for that situation!!! Some dogs may require a fence of a certain type and height, due to safety, the breed or known history. We are looking for pet parents that provide vet care such as routine vaccines for their pets and heartworm prevention for dogs. Please understand we do cross check vet references and landowners/landlord policies and cannot process applications with incomplete or incorrect information. We asked that you take your newly adopted dog for a vet exam in the first 30 days to establish with your vet and obtain their heartworm prevention prescriptions and have a fecal exam administered as some pets may need additional de-womer after leaving our care. Please submit a Pre-Adoption Questionnaire by clicking the hyperlink if visible to show your interest in adoption. Only submit one app for any of our dogs, your app will be on file for at least 1 year. This questionnaire simply helps inform us if the dog you are interested in might match your family's dynamics based on what we have learned about that dog.
