Meet Hobbes

Hobbes and two other dogs (Calvin and Tracer) were picked up as strays in a rural part of Dallas County. Based on the location where they were roaming, it's reasonable to believe they were livestock guardian dogs, but of course we can't know for sure and they're not talking! Hobbes has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested heartworm negative. He is a friendly boy who likes people and gets along with other dogs. He also does well with our barn cats, even letting them eat out of his bowl sometimes. We haven't tested Hobbes with our chickens yet. Hobbes has been living in the pasture at Windsong Ranch with our Nigerian Dwarf goats and longhorn bull. He is doing just fine, but under the watchful eye of our lead LGD, he doesn't have the opportunity to misbehave. Since he's still a youngster, if he is adopted as a working dog, he would do best if paired with a mature, experienced LGD. Hobbes is such a friendly, playful dog that we think he could easily transition to life as a family pet. If Hobbes sounds like a good match for you, please submit an application here.
