Meet Copper

Copper is an absolutely gorgeous Redbone Coonhound who is ready to find a foster or forever home. Copper landed in the Bonham shelter with a really nasty open wound. Our friends Kathy and Mark of Lucky & Sadie's Place convinced the shelter to take Copper to the vet for treatment at their expense. But since Lucky & Sadie's Place is a sanctuary for senior dogs, we agreed that it made more sense for Copper to become a Bluebonnet dog. He is not yet a year old, and is most definitely a breed that we don't have experience with, but we figured we could LEARN! Copper has been in boarding with the vet, and during that time, he had surgery to clean up the wound, which is healing nicely, and he has been neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm-tested. We were pleasantly surprised that his 4DX was negative for heartworms and tick-borne diseases.  Copper is a big (80 lbs), sweet, ACTIVE dog who needs a foster or adopter who shares those qualities with him. He needs someone big and strong enough to handle him on a leash, and someone active enough to take him hiking and give him plenty of exercise. He would LOVE to have a big, well-fenced yard so he can run and play and sniff every inch the way any good scenthound will do. If Copper looks and sounds like the perfect companion for you, please complete our online application today!
