Ohio Fuzzy Pawz Shih Tzu Rescue, Inc.

We rescue, rehabilitate and re-home Shih Tzu and other toy breed dogs from a variety of situations. We pull from a number of shelters in and around Ohio; we take in breeder releases from commercial breeding facilities and owner surrenders as space permits. We do this so that hopefully we can reduce the number of Shih Tzu and other breeds euthanized in shelters due to space and place all of our dogs in loving permanent homes.

Meet Celeste - ARR

Celeste’s adoption donation is $525, and she is being fostered in North Central Ohio.  She has been spayed, microchipped, received her rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza, and Bordetella vaccines, tested negative for heartworms, and started on prevention, as well as flea prevention.  She has also had a dental cleaning with extractions. Celeste requires a home with a companion dog of similar energy and a securely fenced yard. Celeste came into rescue as a release from a puppy mill and has made astounding progress in rescue. She has all characteristics of the breed and is your typical Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. She is happiest when she is with her person and will follow them anywhere. She is learning to walk on a leash but still not confident enough to call her fully leash trained. While she does have a small grade heart murmur, it only requires monitoring. Celeste has done very well on potty training and does best when kept on a schedule. She loves the company of other dogs and is just a happy-go-lucky girl.

Adoption Process
Applicant submits an online (or paper) application. We thoroughly check references including personal, vet, and groomer--landlord if applicable. Once references check out, we then conduct a home visit to ensure home and family would best suit the dog. We do not adopt on a first come, first served basis--we go with the home that is the best fit for the dog.

Look for other dogs for adoption!
