Meet Penny

BONDED PAIR ALERT! Meet Penny and her sister, Abby —two gentle souls who came into foster care after their owner could no longer care for them.Penny is the smaller of the two and approaching 13 years old. Abby is a sweet girl nearing 9 years old who absolutely adores human attention. With her big, soulful eyes, she’ll gently beg for pets and affection. Abby has some hearing loss and arthritis in her front legs, and both girls have some mobility challenges in their back legs and hips.Penny came to us with serious eye infections and ultimately had one eye removed, but she’s thriving now! She’s a calm, loving companion who enjoys relaxing in a cozy bed or snuggling in a warm lap. These two are incredibly laid-back and gentle. They’re up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and do well with other dogs and cats. They’re fine around children, but due to Penny’s blindness and their startle reflexes, a quieter, adult-only home would be ideal.Abby and Penny have been with their foster family for over nine months and fit right in with the household pets, both dogs and cats. They share a large crate/X-pen with a soft dog bed and are perfectly content. They sleep through the night and spend much of their day napping.Abby still loves to play with toys and will bring a smile to your face daily, while Penny prefers a quiet place to rest. These girls are looking for a peaceful home where they can enjoy their golden years together. We are searching for a truly special home for this sweet, bonded pair—someone who understands their unique needs and is ready to give them the love they deserve. They must be adopted together, as they have always been together and rely on each other. Both girls will require ongoing pain medication and joint supplements for the rest of their lives, as well as regular blood work to monitor the effects of the medication on their kidneys. Despite their medical needs, they remain mobile and enjoy going outside for potty breaks—happily heading to their favorite spot, then taking a relaxed stroll around the yard before settling in for a cozy nap indoors. They are part of the PAP LOVS/Senior Program, which includes a special adoption contract. Paws Across Pittsburgh will continue to cover certain veterinary expenses and medication costs. These lovely senior ladies are full of sweetness and are simply looking for a forever home with a compassionate family to live out their lives.
