Meet Bubba “Tank” Blue! He is very playful and snuggly. He walks great on a leash, and he doesn’t get distracted on walks by other animals or people; just looks at them and keeps walking. Tank sits and waits for his food until you give him the OK. He’s potty trained and crate trained. He’s super cute while you’re in the kitchen; he just sits and watches you. Tank plays with the other dogs well and is gentle taking treats out of your hand. Learning new tricks is in the works. He knows some basic commands like sit stay, no and down. Tank is about 6 years old and about 55 pounds.
Adoption Process
Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
