Bandana doesn’t only have the prettiest eyes and the cutest heart nose, he is also the most gentle and sweet 4ish month old puppy. His favorite things to do include army crawling through the yard, playing with ALL of his toys and snuggling. Bandana is good with dogs of all sizes and ages and cats. He’s very chill for a puppy and a perfect couch potato cuddle buddy. Of course, like every pup, he has bursts of energy and likes to play, but is also perfectly capablele of entertaining himselff with his toys. So far he seems to be doing good on the leash. He knows sit and shake, and we are also working on recall and down. Bandana sleeps in a crate through the night without any issues and hasn’t had an accident in the house in a week.
Adoption Process
Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
