Meet Pierce

Tall, dark and handsome PIERCE is a lovable young goofball looking for a new home. He appears to be a border collie mix, but with a short coat. Pierce is about 1 year old and fully grown at 42 pounds. This young gent is silly and friendly and loves every person and every dog he meets. Pierce needs a home with a physically-fenced yard suitable for romping and would love living with another playful dog. Young Pierce will need a little bit of training, but he's smart and good natured and should be fun to work with. If you'd like to meet Pierce, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Pierce at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate, if he's still available. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog’s veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care. A deposit is required to take a dog home for a trial period. The deposit will be applied to the dog’s final adoption fee.

Adoption Process
We offer Foster To Adopt for dogs adoptions. You must complete the application, be approved and pay a $100 deposit ($150 puppies). You can then take the dog home for a trial visit of up to one week This will help you determine if you and the dog are the right match. If yes, then you can finalize the adoption. If no, then you return the dog to us and you are welcome to try a different dog. complete the necessary paperwork and pay a $100 deposit for adult dogs and $150 for puppies (cash, check or credit card). This fee is non-refundable, and will be applied to the adoption fee if you decide to finalize the adoption. The adoption fee includes the dog's spay/neuter surgery, parvo/distemper shots and rabies shots (for dogs over 6 months), deworming, microchipping, flea and tick protection, heartworm testing (for dogs over 6 months), and monthly heartworm protection until the dog gets adopted.
