Peggy has been with us for several months and we are still looking for just the right adopter for her. She was much loved before in a previous home, but has endured a difficult past. True to her breed, her energy can be rather intense at times, especially when she’s focused on chasing a ball or engaged in similar play. She can also be a champion couch potato, content to be curled up near her human and under a blanket, if possible. Peg gets along with the other dogs in her foster home, but she can be a bit much for them sometimes. She might enjoy a canine playmate, but could need an adjustment period for that; she may not be a good fit with every dog, especially another dog with a strong personality. She cannot share a home with a cat, and is also probably not compatible other small animals either. An ideal adopter for Peggy would be someone who has experience with Boston Terriers or a breed with a similar disposition - a Boxer, for instance. A fenced yard is desirable, and depending on the home, may be required. She can and would easily knock over a child, with no harm meant, but could hurt them just the same. Now for the good stuff! She’s crated while her foster mom isn’t home, but she’d probably be fine if she was allowed to be out and about inside the house on her own. She’s never chewed or been destructive in any way, and rarely has potty accidents. She loves to play ball, as already mentioned. She also loves chew toys, rubber squeaky toys, stuffed bones - all of the usually items that most dogs enjoy. At night, she wants to sleep right beside her human on the big bed. During the day when playtime is done, she wants to sleep right beside her human on the couch. Peg is happy to go along for car rides and even gets to accompany her foster mom to work sometimes. Peg is a very good dog. We really want to find a home for her where she can thrive and be her silly, spunky self. She’s overcome some hardships recently, and she certainly deserves a chance at a brighter future and a happy ever after. If Peg sounds like the one for you, let’s get the ball rolling! Adoption Process
The first step to adopting is to fill out the Online Adoption Application at www.rosesrescue.net. After your application has been reviewed and approved, one of our volunteers will get in touch with you. As long as your application has been pre-approved, the pet's foster parent will set up a time with you to come visit the pet you're interested in. In some cases, a home visit may also be required. If all goes well, you will then sign an adoption contract, pay the adoption fee, and then your new pet is ready to go to its forever home!
