Meet Bayleigh! This 10-month-old sweetheart is 46 pounds of pure sunshine, wiggles, and joy! Bay is smitten with everyone she meets—humans and pups alike. Her tail starts wagging the second she sees you, and her happiness is downright contagious. Bay is the total package: spayed, heartworm negative, great on a leash, and well on her way with potty training—she hasn’t had a single accident in her foster’s home (though she’s been living her best outdoor life during the day!). She loves toys, especially playing fetch, and will happily zoom around the yard with a goofy grin before flopping down for cuddles. She’s also full of fun quirks that make her one of a kind—she likes to “hold your hand” gently in her mouth during walks, greets you with a full-body hug, and is a total goofball when it comes to playtime. Bay LOVES to wrestle and play chase with other pups and has energy to spare—but she’s just as affectionate and eager to connect with her people. A volunteer shared: “Bay has so much fun energy but also loves affection. She listens and learns well, especially when walking on a leash. Adoption Process
Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
