Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue

Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue is a non-profit animal rescue with a basic mission: giving animals that are in danger of euthanasia a second chance by placing them in foster homes while recruiting adoptive families on their behalf. The animals may be in over crowded or poorly funded county shelters and pounds in big cities or rural areas.

Meet D111 Litter Tate

Meet Tate, one of two new pups at the Mikey & Me Kennels in Chelsea for Happy Days Rescue. Tate is a mixed breed, likely Lab or German Shepherd, he’s just 5 months old, he weighs about 30 pounds, and he’s a very sweet boy. Tate is still a little scared about new adventures but he quickly adapts, especially when his smaller sister, Tara, leads the way. Tate is very friendly, he takes his treats nicely, and he enjoys walking and spending time in the outdoor play area. ❤️ Tate has had his initial vaccinations and will be seeing our Vet in Dexter on Friday. He will get a physical exam, booster shots, microchip, and we will discuss scheduling his neuter surgery at that time. We’re not sure how big Tate will eventually be but I’m guessing only 50-60 pounds based on his current size. If you would like to meet Tate, please submit an adoption application under his name at happydaysdogandcatrescue.org. HDDCR requires a spay/neuter contract by the adopter if puppies and kittens in our care are too young for sterilization. This is a form the adopter signs at the time of adoption, confirming that they will get the pet spayed/neutered by a certain date. We will hold a $50 deposit on top of the adoption fee until we receive proof from a veterinarian that the dog was spayed/neutered. The $50 deposit will then be returned to the adopter. Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a    $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee    to change information.   Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.

Adoption Process
Approved adoption application required. Vet check of current and past animals required. Home assessment / home visit with the entire family, including all current pets required. If adoption occurs, Adoption Contract is required. Adoption fee required; however, the fee varies based on the age and health of the animal. Special rates apply for seniors adopting seniors.
