Meet Atticus

Atticus is a sweet boy, that just want to be with someone, human or canine buddy. He goes in his cage without issue (sometimes on his own to rest or play – with door open) but will bark and whine if someone is not around him (next room is fine). He does eventually calm down. He does NOT chew when in the cage, his bed and toys are intact. That said, I saw him gnawing on the cat tree – once- he hasn’t done it again, nothing else has been chew on. He is learning SIT and SIT & STAY and COME and LEAVE IT, he’s getting the idea, but not proficient (yet). He will still need training for OFF and DOWN. He takes training very well and will train as long as you will (loves the one-on-one attention). He loves swimming and running and playing with his foster siblings. He also enjoys stuffed toys and a quick game of fetch until something else catches his attention. He has a pretty impressive vertical jump; he just doesn’t have the horizontal coordination to make this a problem (to jump on tables or counters). He is respectful of our cats. He is a puppy with HIGH energy with a puppy tendency for being “mouthy” … he doesn’t nip, just likes your hand in his mouth for some reason…. He is eager to please and you can see the warmth in his eyes. Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.

Adoption Process
Approved adoption application required. Vet check of current and past animals required. Home assessment / home visit with the entire family, including all current pets required. If adoption occurs, Adoption Contract is required. Spay/neuter Agreement required [if animal not fixed at time of adoption] Return of animal to the rescue if the adoption doesn't work out is required. Adoption fee required; however, the fee varies based on the age and health of the animal. Special rates apply for seniors adopting seniors.
