Ohio Fuzzy Pawz Shih Tzu Rescue, Inc.

We rescue, rehabilitate and re-home Shih Tzu and other toy breed dogs from a variety of situations. We pull from a number of shelters in and around Ohio; we take in breeder releases from commercial breeding facilities and owner surrenders as space permits. We do this so that hopefully we can reduce the number of Shih Tzu and other breeds euthanized in shelters due to space and place all of our dogs in loving permanent homes.

Meet Wilson - OS

Wilson’s adoption donation is $525 and he is being fostered in Central Ohio.  He has been neutered, microchipped, received his rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza and Bordetella vaccines, tested negative for heartworms and started on prevention, as well as flea prevention. Wilson would do well with a companion dog of similar energy (he does well with larger dogs and smaller dogs) or an active home that will engage him and work to continue his progress. He is very social and loves children, adults, and other dogs! He came into rescue when his owner fell ill and could no longer care for him. He learns quickly and has made a lot of progress in rescue. Wilson is walking on a leash and is potty trained. He does well on housetraining if kept on a schedule. Wilson will need an active home to continue his progress and help him live his best life.  He has brought his current foster parents immense joy and satisfaction seeing his progress. He is very easy to fall in love with and he just likes being around his family.  Wilson loves to play and go for walks, and also loves taking naps on the couch.

Adoption Process
Applicant submits an online (or paper) application. We thoroughly check references including personal, vet, and groomer--landlord if applicable. Once references check out, we then conduct a home visit to ensure home and family would best suit the dog. We do not adopt on a first come, first served basis--we go with the home that is the best fit for the dog.

Look for other dogs for adoption!
