Sweet Dream House Rescue

Sweet Dream House Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit, no kill, all volunteer, all breed animal rescue. We utilize a network of foster homes for pets ready for adoption. Our mission is to rescue homeless and abandoned animals, to spay/neuter, vaccinate and provide any needed medical care until they are adopted into loving homes. We are often the rescue of last resort, waiting until other rescues select from the euthansia lists to rescue those that are not selected.

Meet Lefty

Little LEFTY is a sweet, lively little chiweenie (dachshund/chihuahua mix) fellow looking for a home. He's 5-6 years old and weighs 10 pounds. Lefty came to us with a badly mangled right rear leg that was never treated. It was beyond repair and has been amputated. He won't miss it, he's been living his life as a tripod for some time now, running around with the useless leg kicked up to the side. Lefty is a fun little guy, fine with other dogs and cats. He's housebroken and crate trained. Lefty needs a home where he won't have to navigate flights of stairs. He needs an adopter who will make sure he maintains a healthy weight to protect his mobility. Lefty can go to a furever home on a trial basis, his adoption will be finalized after his medical care is completed -- he has a dental cleaning scheduled in a few weeks. If you'd like to meet Lefty, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter or you can meet Lefty at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate.  We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog’s veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care. A deposit is required to take a dog home for a trial period. The deposit will be applied to the dog’s final adoption fee.

Adoption Process
We offer Foster To Adopt for dogs adoptions. You must complete the application, be approved and pay a $100 deposit ($150 puppies). You can then take the dog home for a trial visit of up to one week This will help you determine if you and the dog are the right match. If yes, then you can finalize the adoption. If no, then you return the dog to us and you are welcome to try a different dog. complete the necessary paperwork and pay a $100 deposit for adult dogs and $150 for puppies (cash, check or credit card). This fee is non-refundable, and will be applied to the adoption fee if you decide to finalize the adoption. The adoption fee includes the dog's spay/neuter surgery, parvo/distemper shots and rabies shots (for dogs over 6 months), deworming, microchipping, flea and tick protection, heartworm testing (for dogs over 6 months), and monthly heartworm protection until the dog gets adopted.
