Naked K9 & Small Dog Rescue

We are a group of individuals who want to help dogs in need. We pull dogs from kill shelters, take owner surrenders and also take dogs from hoarding situations and breeders who have been shut down. We provide veterinary care for the dogs, spay/neuter, provide a safe and loving foster home and then try to find match the dog with an appropriate forever home.

Meet Lucy in Pittsburgh

Hey All!  My name is Lucy............Foster Mom calls me Lucy Lynn, Lucifur and "hey what do you have in your mouth...give me that NOW!"  I was spayed this week, and I am all ready to start to find my new home (not sure why I need to leave but FM says I need my OWN family).  I love all dogs, but I need to be in charge...I might be small, but I am very bossy!  I like toys and will play fetch for hours if you are up for the game.  FM says that I am a terror with soft plushy toys. I rip them apart until I get the squeaker out of them.  It's lots of fun to watch her clean up white fluffies from all over the house.  I love lap time and crawling all over her especially sticking my nose in her hair and ears.  I will sleep in a crate, but I much prefer being in the big bed so that I can burrow under the covers.  Oh..........Mom says I have to let her talk now...okay, fine!! Lucy is a very friendly dog with most all people and not afraid of much of anything not even the vacuum cleaner.  We have not tested her with cats or bigger dogs although she has seen the next-door neighbor's dog through the fence.  Lucy does bark at her.  But Lucy is very bossy and possessive of her person.  She can be in a home with other dogs, but they will need to be the less dominate of the pack as she thinks she is a big dog in a little dog suit.  Lucy is currently pee pad trained but will go outside.  We are working on leash walking with her. We are using a harness to control her very active little body as she can wriggle out of things very easily.  Lucy is a very smart dog with an amazing ability to jump. She LOVES to run in the backyard so a fence while not a requirement will be a huge plus for her forever home.  Lucy has very high levels of terrier behavior so she does need to be kept occupied with toys that she can either destuff or the ones that are "extra tough" as left to be bored she will decide that everything that will fit in her mouth is okay to chew.   She is not picky about food currently eating a high-quality dry kibble and wet food combination.   For general questions regarding Lucy, please contact the Foster Mom at [email protected]
