Meet Poppy

Poppy is a 2 year old tri color coonhound, who is spayed, microchipped, current on vaccines, and flea and tick medication. She weighs about 45 lbs.She is an energetic young playful dog, who loves to follow you around, cuddle with you, gives loads of kisses and just craves for love from people!! She enjoys playing and running around our fenced in yard. She loves her food and treats and it’s great to watch her do her happy dance every time she sees the food bowl! She is doing well in crate training. She has come a long way in such a short amount of time! She takes naps during the daytime and sleeps through the night in her crate after whining for a little bit. By being proactive and with proper routine, she is doing very well with house training as well! We take her out as soon as she has had a nap in her crate and every time after her food and that has been working well so far and no accidents recently. As long as someone works with her continuously, she’ll be completely house trained :)She loves playing with her foster fur-sister outside in the yard and they get along very well! She does tend to resource guard her toys and food, so she needs to be fed separately! She hasn’t shown any aggression, just a loud bark when her fur sister is near her toy or food and snatches the toy away. So, this is something that you need to keep in mind if you have other dogs in your house! She will also do well as the only dog as the one thing that she craves for is human love and cuddles! As she has been in an outdoor shelter for a long time, initially she was scared of loud TV noise, sudden movements of furniture, drawers etc., but she has adjusted to these noises quickly.   She loves to follow us (her foster parents) around the house and she checks in on us and gives kisses when we are not feeling well! Who wants to take this sweet girl home?? She’s waiting for her forever family
