Miniature Poodle , Male , 2 years old 10 pounds Hi! My name is Abraham and I am around 2 years old and need to find my forever home! I am slowly learning how to be a dog after not being around people during my early life. I am a little shy at first but will be right at your hip soon enough following you around the house and laying next to you on the couch. I love other dogs and do well around cats too! I am learning to go potty outside and do well in a crate. I still get a little nervous around loud noises but I am slowly learning that humans are not scary. I have done well with cats, dogs, and kids! I am still young and learning very quickly. I am small too and would be a great shopping partner once I warm up. Adopt Abraham today!
Adoption Process
Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
