Ohio Fuzzy Pawz Shih Tzu Rescue, Inc.

We rescue, rehabilitate and re-home Shih Tzu and other toy breed dogs from a variety of situations. We pull from a number of shelters in and around Ohio; we take in breeder releases from commercial breeding facilities and owner surrenders as space permits. We do this so that hopefully we can reduce the number of Shih Tzu and other breeds euthanized in shelters due to space and place all of our dogs in loving permanent homes.

Meet Jonah - OS

Jonah's adoption donation is $550 and he is being fostered in Cincinnati Ohio. He has been spayed, microchipped, received her rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza and Bordetella vaccines and started on heartworm prevention, as well as flea prevention. Jonah requires a companion dog of similar size and energy as well as a securely fenced yard. Jonah came into rescue through no fault of his own from a private owner who could no longer care for him. He is a sweet and loving little boy, and he loves running and climbing and doing all sorts of puppy things. Like all puppies, Jonah is inquisitive and loves to learn. Even though Jonah is active, he has a very laid-back personality. He loves to be loved on and snuggled. Another dog of similar size and activity is required for him. Jonah is still learning to accept a leash so a secured fenced in yard is also necessary. He is doing well on potty training if kept on a schedule.

Adoption Process
Applicant submits an online (or paper) application. We thoroughly check references including personal, vet, and groomer--landlord if applicable. Once references check out, we then conduct a home visit to ensure home and family would best suit the dog. We do not adopt on a first come, first served basis--we go with the home that is the best fit for the dog.

Look for other dogs for adoption!
