Ohio Fuzzy Pawz Shih Tzu Rescue, Inc.

We rescue, rehabilitate and re-home Shih Tzu and other toy breed dogs from a variety of situations. We pull from a number of shelters in and around Ohio; we take in breeder releases from commercial breeding facilities and owner surrenders as space permits. We do this so that hopefully we can reduce the number of Shih Tzu and other breeds euthanized in shelters due to space and place all of our dogs in loving permanent homes.

Meet Adora - OS

Adora's adoption donation is $425 and she is being fostered in the Northern Ohio area.  She has been spayed, microchipped, received her rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza, bordetella, dental cleaning, tested negative for heartworm and started on prevention as well as flea prevention. Adora is a spunky girl and likes to think of herself as a diva!  Adora came into rescue through no fault of her own when her owner could no longer keep her due to their ongoing health issues. Meeting Adora for the first time, she will be cautious. Once she is acclimated, she will be your best friend and shadow. Adora tends to be cautious when meeting new people and does some alert barking, but with a bit of patience and understanding, she settles comfortably. She loves to cuddle and thinks she is human sometimes. Adora will jump on any chair by a table so she doesn't miss out on any action (see pic as proof!). Adora gets along with other dogs, but is ok being an only dog. Adora walks well on a leash and enjoys her several walks a day, but she is also potty pad trained. She does not like to go/stay outside alone, but if you go out with her, she will stay with you the whole time! Due to her small, size a home with no children under the age of 12 is needed.

Adoption Process
Applicant submits an online (or paper) application. We thoroughly check references including personal, vet, and groomer--landlord if applicable. Once references check out, we then conduct a home visit to ensure home and family would best suit the dog. We do not adopt on a first come, first served basis--we go with the home that is the best fit for the dog.

Look for other dogs for adoption!
