250"No animal I know can consistently be more of a friend and companion than a dog"- Stanley Leinwall If you are reading this, you may be looking for your new best friend. Well, here I am. My name is Scoobi Roo. I am around 7 months old, weigh around 55 pounds, and am very strong. My foster mom is working with me on leash training, how to sit on command, and cage training. I have a lot of energy and often get a case of the zoomies. I am always on alert. Not much will get by me. I love attention, car rides, squeaky toys, big bones, and lots of love.
Adoption Process
Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
