Meet Baptisia

Baptisia is a 1 yo female kelpie mix, 29 lbs, who is a happy, loving, and playful pup. She loves doing zoomies in the backyard with her foster dog friends and chasing her foster human brother in the backyard. Playing fetch is one of her favorite activities. She loves chewing on bones and playing with toys, including tug of war with a dog. She is house & crate trained. Does well on the leash and in the car. She knows basic commands. Baptisia loves to please her people and show affection. Consider welcoming Baptisia into your home.

Adoption Process
Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
