200Meet Daisy Flower
Daisy Flower is truly one of the sweetest souls you'll ever encounter! Much like her namesake flower, she thrives in the sunshine. For the past decade, she has enjoyed the freedom of roaming across 10 acres, thanks to her electric fence collar. Unfortunately, her pet parents had to transition to an assisted living facility, or she would still be basking in the only yard she’s ever known. This independent lady appreciates her space, but she’s always up for a gentle head scratch and a tasty treat. While she tends to keep to herself around other dogs, she doesn’t mind having them around, even when exuberant pups overwhelm her with affection. Daisy prefers to find a quiet spot to sit and observe the antics around her. Daisy is part of our Senior Soulmate Program. If she is adopted by a senior citizen, a generous donor will sponsor her adoption fee, and she will come with six months of heart worm protection
Adoption Process
Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
