When Pickles sees his person his whole face lights up. He always gets the biggest smile, his curly tail wags like crazy & the whole dog wiggles & hops!! It’s precious!! Pickles is pure Velcro! Once he loves you he loves so hard!! His main goal in life is to be close. He loves to cuddle ( even more than he loves treats & toys) & he is adorable while he does it! We have no idea what breed Pickles is ( he’s probably mostly mutt) but we do know that he’s 100 percent adorable! Pickles is around 4 years old and about 50 lbs. He is wonderful in the car, great in the house & will hang out with his foster mom in the yard off leash!! Pickles is great with cats & dogs! His main goal in life is to be loved as hard as he loves!
Adoption Process
Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
