Meet Meg Swan

Meg Swan; what can we say; she’s perfect! She’s 2 ish years old and past the puppy stage but young enough to walk, hike or be active if that’s the agenda. She’s also more than happy to play with a toy on her own, lounge around or nap all day. Meg is medium energy. She’s good in the car, on leash, tolerates baths and knows basic commands. Meg is the absolute queen of biiiiiig stretches and will charm you with her goofy personality. She’s fun, well behaved and all around friendly; what could be better?? She’s dog and cat friendly and even good with the 6 month old human baby in her foster home! She tested into doggy daycare wirh ease and was able to be in both the playful group and older dog group. She will happily try to match play style with dogs whether that’s chase, sharing toys or wrestling. She really just wants everyone to be happy. Meg Swan is the all-around balanced good girl you’ve been looking for!

Adoption Process
Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
