Tawny is a sweet old girl ready to retire in her forever home Foster Home Feedback 11/24/23 Foster Feedback: We have been fostering Tawny for two weeks now, and she is coming along nicely. We knew that she got along well with other dogs and cats from her previous foster, and there have not been any surprises. Tawny is very sedate and reserved. She is very quiet in the house, and occasionally barks when outside; usually when the horse next door is visible in his pasture. She had a Veterinarian visit last week. It was verified that she had been spayed at a younger age, she had a dental cleaning, and also had two non-cancerous skin growths removed. Tawny moves around the house and is not glued to her people, unless food is involved. If there is food out, she will post up and look at us until the food is put away or gone. She is at a good weight, 26#, so her attention to food has not hurt her physical condition. She likes to lay on the couch or bed, either alone or with you. She has had some accidents in the house, but they are decreasing in frequency. We would recommend that she be started on hard floors in a new home, and then slowly open up to carpeted areas. We have had other dogs in our house, and she may have found old pee spots, and just added to them. Her cues are slight when she has to go outside. We would recommend she go out about every 3 hours during the day to start in a new home, and take it from there. Training with a bell or door scratching could help her develop a cue. She sleeps quietly all night, either in a kennel or on the bed. If you have cats, then you may need to block her off from the litter boxes. She has grabbed herself some treats from ours. She gets along fine with our other pets, but doesn’t seem to do much interacting with them. Our cats are fine with that. Tawny is very good on a leash, and walks in a way that the leash doesn’t trip you up. She likes walks and exploring for smells.
