Meet Stephanie

Stephanie is a sweet, bright 3 yr old, 7 lb Yorkshire Terrier. She gets along well with other dogs her size and loves to wrestle and play with her foster mom’s Yorkie. She is a total lap dog and cuddle bug. Stephanie prefers to sleep next to her person at night. Stephanie could be an only dog or have another dog under 10 pounds in the home. Like all proper Yorkies, she does not miss much, and will alert bark BEFORE UPS rings the doorbell. She is smart, friendly and social. She is a joy to take on brisk walks, which she absolutely LOVES doing, so her adoptive family needs to be committed to daily walks.    Stephanie’s rear knees are locked, but it doesn’t give her any problem except for occasionally losing her balance on slick floors, but she jumps right back up without skipping a beat. She would do best in a home and into a yard where there were NO steps for her to have to manage and where the floors are not really slick. She can navigate tile and hardwoods, but laminate flooring can be difficult. Stephanie came to us as a breeder release dog, meaning she never lived in a home as someone’s beloved family member. Her foster mom has made a lot of progress with potty training and Stephanie will use a pee pad if one is available.  She needs a home where everyone is patient and will continue teaching her to go potty outside.    The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC and VA. Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, North Carolina to meet the dog after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports. If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact [email protected]. There is an application process and adoption fee. An all-adult home (no children or grandchildren) and a yard with a secure fence, 4ft or higher, which is attached to the home is required to adopt from Hart-2-Heart Rescue. An invisible fence, enclosed patio or terrace, temporary fencing, dog pens or dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. No exceptions. We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business. Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, bordetella, and rabies vaccines and are professionally groomed. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing. Adoption fee is $500.
