Meet Arthur

Name / Breed / Age: Arthur , Pitbull, Adult  Personality Traits: Charming, Playful, The Class Clown Likes / Dislikes:  loves squeaky toys, plushies, and anything he can chase or chew—he’s happiest when surrounded by his toy collection. He dislikes waiting too long for potty breaks and prefers prompt access to the outdoors, as befits a gentleman of his standing. Health and behavior history:  Up to date on vaccines, dewormed, microchipped and neutered. Clean bill of health from the PIPs Vet!  Introducing Sir Arthur: A Gentleman, a Scholar, a Connoisseur of Squeaky ToysPull up a tufted leather chair and pour yourself a glass of something vintage—because you're about to meet Sir Arthur, a 12-year-old pitbull mix with the soul of a jazz-age gentleman and the toy drive of a toddler after a Capri Sun.While his tuxedo may be of the tan variety and he’s traded cigars for chew bones, Arthur is the very image of refined charm. He is mostly blind (he sees shadows and light) and mostly deaf (but can somehow hear the exact frequency of a squeaky toy from across the room—science can’t explain it).Don’t let his age fool you. Arthur isn’t here for the early-bird special. This 50-pound aristocrat is obsessed with toys. Balls, bones, plushies—you name it, he’ll chase it, chew it, and hoard it like it’s the last Werther’s Original in the tin. He’ll happily play for hours, even devising little games like rolling toys away and “finding” them again like a one-dog Easter egg hunt. His joy is contagious, and when he’s especially delighted, he lets out the happiest bark and flashes his legendary smile. (We dare you not to swoon.)Arthur is kid-friendly, dog-friendly, and always appropriately dressed in his softest fur coat with a velvet nose you’ll find yourself absentmindedly stroking like it’s your new fidget toy. He’s about 7/10 potty trained—and here's where his backstory gets a bit mysterious. Arthur arrived with a double hernia, which we assume was earned heroically in Vietnam; so when he has to do his business, he has to go now. But if he has access to the outdoors, he’s very respectful and handles it like a true sir.Sir Arthur is looking for a retirement estate (read: loving home) where he can live out his golden years in plush luxury, surrounded by toys, adoration, and maybe a faint hint of pipe tobacco in the air.Adopt Sir Arthur. He’s not just a dog. He’s a lifestyle.

Adoption Process
Once we receive your application an adoption counselor will take a look and reach out with any questions. The team will check personal, vet references and check with your landlord if applicable. Your adoption counselor will then set up a time to talk with you and your family (or anyone else involved in the adoption process in your home). This call is a good time to ask any questions you have. Once your application is approved, you will be connected with the foster of the PIP(s) you are interested in. From start to finish, this process can take anywhere from a few days to over a week (so please be patient!). If everything goes well and you and the foster agree that the PIP you want to adopt is a good fit, we will then finalize the adoption. Adoption fees are $325 for adults and $375 for puppies. All dogs will be up to date on age appropriate vaccines and spayed / neutered if old enough. If not old enough adopters can come back to our vet to have it covered in fee. It must be done by the time the dog is 6 months old.
