Blue Moon Shepherd Rescue, Inc.

I have almost 30 years of gsd rescue experience with my current rescue. I moved to NC from NY and need to start a new rescue that will identify me with the south and not NY. BMSR will be a small group that rescues the gsds that no other rescues want. Many are the ones that are in shelters marked 'rescue only.' I am a trainer and want to make a difference. I love the breed and understand the breed. I love to see these broken, sad and scared dogs turn into wonderful and happy dogs. I love making them healthy and enjoy seeing their confidence grow so they can have a great life. I make them good dogs and I look for homes that will make them great dogs by giving them more love and training. I am EXTREMELY particular about finding the right home for each dog based on their needs. I won't save a lot of dogs but the ones I do will get the best of everything I can provide for them. It's a calling I have had all my life. When I get too old to take the dogs with issues, I want to turn my rescue into a sanctuary for older dogs that need a loving place for their final years. I cannot imagine my life not doing rescue.

Meet Tess

Meet Tess  a very sweet and intelligent girl who is 3.5 yrs old.   Tess showed up on our back porch as a puppy. We took all the steps to find her original owners, but ended up adopting her ourselves after no one claimed her and we fell in love.  Tess is very active and athletic, but also loves to lounge on the couch or dog bed for hours. Tess has always gotten along great with our two dogs and all other dogs who have visited. Recently, however, Tess is displaying dominance over our senior female dog who has health problems. We are concerned for our senior girl who needs a quiet home. As much as we love Tess, we know she would be happier in a home without other female dogs. It's very stressful and sad for all of us. Tess would prefer a nice fenced yard over being leash walked. She hasn't had much exposure to small children, so homes with older children or adults only would be ideal. We are heartbroken over this, but know that it's for the best.     Tess is spayed and up to date on vaccines.  Crate trained and has basic obedience training.  Tess is located in Winnabow.  If you are interested in this sweet girl, please contact Donna at [email protected] or fill out an online application Click to apply. Tess is a courtesy post.
