CrisisDogsNC

CrisisDogsNC is a foster-based, 501 (c) (3) non-profit founded in 2017 by journalist and author Judith Reitman Texier whose investigative articles garnered international awards and prompted changes in animal welfare laws. She created the Organization in response to North Carolina’s euthanasia rate which is among the highest in the country and to many of its shelters’ methods of euthanasia that are so inhumane they are outlawed in most other states. We rescue dogs from kill shelters, substandard backyard breeders, hoarders, and from chains. We provide full medical care, foster homes, and transport by land and air through our partnership with PilotsNPaws to fully screened and qualified adopters all along the East Coast. What distinguishes us from other rescues is our focus on the relationship between the rescued dog and the new family. By understanding your lifestyle and expectations, as well as the personalities of our rescue dogs, we can make a compatible match for a lifelong bond. We are in it for the life of the dog. At any point after adoption, if the adopter's situation changes for whatever reason, we will always accept the dog back into the rescue.

Meet Chanel

Chanel is a one-year-old, 55-pound, Coonhound/Chow mix.   FOSTER OR ADOPTER urgently needed! Chanel was rescued after being found abandoned with her brother, tied to a pole near a trash bin. A compassionate individual cared for her before reaching out for assistance. DNA tests reveal she's primarily a blend of Redbone Coonhound and Chow. Chanel is fully vetted, spayed, and vaccinated. She's cat-friendly with a proper introduction and is the epitome of sweetness, enjoying belly rubs and lounging by your side. She bonds well with her brother and has passed dog interaction tests with flying colors. Chanel is kennel-trained, housebroken, crate-trained, and leash-trained. Her calm demeanor makes her an ideal family pet. Initially shy, she quickly warms up, craving affection and growing in confidence daily. She responds to commands like 'out,' 'lay,' 'crate,' and 'sit,' though she's wary of mops and similar objects. Her social skills have blossomed at the Pet Resort, but she'll thrive with a patient adopter who can help her fully embrace safety and love. Chanel is eager to find her forever home!   Chanel is not part of CrisisDogsNC. This is a courtesy posting on behalf of the finder. If you are interested in finding out more, please apply online at  www.crisisdogsnc.org   please apply online at www.crisisdogsnc.org. Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description.
