Blue Moon Shepherd Rescue, Inc.

I have almost 30 years of gsd rescue experience with my current rescue. I moved to NC from NY and need to start a new rescue that will identify me with the south and not NY. BMSR will be a small group that rescues the gsds that no other rescues want. Many are the ones that are in shelters marked 'rescue only.' I am a trainer and want to make a difference. I love the breed and understand the breed. I love to see these broken, sad and scared dogs turn into wonderful and happy dogs. I love making them healthy and enjoy seeing their confidence grow so they can have a great life. I make them good dogs and I look for homes that will make them great dogs by giving them more love and training. I am EXTREMELY particular about finding the right home for each dog based on their needs. I won't save a lot of dogs but the ones I do will get the best of everything I can provide for them. It's a calling I have had all my life. When I get too old to take the dogs with issues, I want to turn my rescue into a sanctuary for older dogs that need a loving place for their final years. I cannot imagine my life not doing rescue.

Meet Rory

Meet Rory a 3 year old bi-color German/Belgian shepherd blend.  She is stunning and her pictures don’t show how beautiful she is.  Rory is petite, smart, athletic, funny and sweet.  She is food motivated, she loves training and it’s fun for her to learn new commands.  Rory is very well trained, she walks well on leash and is very attentive to her foster mom.  Rory is shy when meeting new people.  She will need some time getting used to her new surrounding.  Rory would love a kind, confident, and patient person to help her continue to develop poise and self-assurance. She has made great progress in her foster home and has become very affectionate with her foster parents. Rory will be a wonderful, loyal companion to a person or couple who want to make her their best friend and want to help her learn to trust more.    Rory has a definite playful and silly side that shines through when she is around her family and other dogs.  Rory loves to communicate and will have a conversation with you as she wags her tail and play bows.   Rory spent a few weeks with a trainer to help her build confidence and trust.  Her trainer raved what a sweet, gentle and smart dog she was. She got along with all the dogs and cats she was introduced to and was quite the party starter taking off and having everyone play chase.  Her trainer worked on Rory meeting new people and says she did well and would benefit from continued social outings.  Rory is grateful to her caretakers and loves to give little butterfly kisses.   Rory does well with other dogs with proper introductions.  She would do well with a medium to large male companion that loves to play chase.  Rory is so fast and loves to zoom around her yard.   A fenced in yard is a must for her .  Rory is also goos with cats.  Rory settles well in the house and loves her dog beds and crate.    Rory is also a ‘foodie’ and loves all things food.  Her favorite part of the day is laying next to her foster mom in the kitchen and catching some samples of vegetables.  Rory has never met a fruit or vegetable she didn’t like.  She enjoys her sliced carrots after her meals.   Rory would like a quiet adult only home. She would not do well in a home with children under 16 because of fast movement and loud voices.  Rory weighs about 45 pounds.  She is a sweet intelligent girl who is a joy to train (and watch TV with)! Rory’s home must have a SECURE FENCED IN YARD. She will need a patient, experienced, and loving handler who will continue her training and socialization. And, in return, Rory will provide endless devotion and affection!    Rory is spayed, current on vaccines, on heart worm preventative, microchipped, crate, obedience and leash trained.     If you are interested in this beautiful girl, please fill out an online application at Blue Moon Shepherd Rescue:   https://form.jotform.com/bmsr/application    If you have any questions, you can contact Donna J. at   [email protected].
