Chatham Animal Rescue & Education

The mission of Chatham Animal Rescue & Education (CARE) is to promote the health and safety of all dogs and cats in Chatham County, NC. CARE foster caregivers provide loving, stable homes to homeless cats and dogs, helping them become the best possible pets for their future forever families. CARE works with the Chatham County Animal Shelter to save the lives of unwanted cats and dogs, manages feral cat colonies, and serves as an educational resource. CARE’s Lillie's Fund is a targeted spay/neuter program, subsidizing sterilization surgeries for pets owned by lower income families in Chatham County. CARE is a nonprofit animal welfare organization that has served the community since 1975 and relies on individual and corporate donors for support.

Meet Laney

Laney is a bouncy playful girl who loves to race around and be the life of the party.  She’d love another playful dog in her forever home, a male dog that is 30lbs or larger- would work best. Laney loves to go for walks and learn new things, so she needs an active family to keep her mind and body busy.  She does fine with cats too, but would do best with a dog savvy cat that will set clear boundaries.  A fenced in yard is a must for this girl (physical fences only, please), she simply adores playing outside and racing around.  She loves children, but due to her exuberance- needs a home with children 8 and over.  She is the ultimate velcro girl, so if you enjoy your space and private time- she isn't the girl for you! We are seeking an experienced dog family for Laney, one that either currently has, or has had a dog in the past- that requires grooming.  We adopt to residents of NC only, and prefer a radius of 60 miles from our foster families.  To find out if you qualify, apply.  Laney's adoption fee is $300.00. Laney is crate trained, and has basic manners training.  She is house trained, and walks well on leash.  She has been spayed and microchipped, and is up to date on vaccines and preventative medications. Adoption Process
Adoption application, vet check, reference check, home visit, $100 (cat) or $200 (dog).
