Meet June Bug
June Bug is a beautiful, 7 month old, 45 pound German Shepherd with a story that will warm your heart. This sweet girl was found in rough shape, battling a bad case of mange and feeling pretty down on her luck. With time, love, and care, she’s made an incredible transformation—and now she’s absolutely thriving! Her fur is soft and shiny, her tail wags nonstop, and her spirit is brighter than ever.June Bug is a gentle, affectionate, and joyful companion. She’s potty trained, crate trained, and has lovely house manners. She’s also super dog-friendly, cat-friendly, and kid-approved—she truly loves everyone she meets and greets them with her signature happy wiggle. Whether she’s tossing around her favorite squeaky toy or flopping down for belly rubs, she radiates pure happiness. She’s the perfect blend of playful and cuddly—always up for an adventure or a game of fetch, but equally happy to snuggle beside you on the couch. Because she would rather spend her time shadowing her fur and human companions alike, June Bug does not need a fenced in yard. Her resilience is matched only by her sweetness, and she has a way of making every room feel lighter and every heart feel fuller. June Bug has overcome so much and is now ready to find a family who will love her as much as she’ll love them. If you're looking for a loyal, loving, and playful pup to fill your life with tail wags and joy, June Bug is your girl. If you're interested in making June Bug a member of your family, please contact your adoption coordinator. If you do not yet have an adoption coordinator, please complete an adoption application at www.freedomgermanshepherdrescue.org . June Bug is being fostered in Durham, NC.
Adoption Process
All applicants must pass a vet check, phone interview and home visit in order to adopt. Once an applicant passes, they must sign an adoption contract where they agree to alter the dog by 6 months of age - if they are adopting a puppy, guarantee that the dog will receive proper vet care, food, water and exercise, and will return the dog to the rescue if they can no longer keep the dog for any reason. All dogs are microchipped prior to adoption, with Freedom GSR always remaining on the chip. The adoption fee is $250, adopters receive a 2 week trial period with the dog and if the adopter is found to be in violation of the contract, Freedom GSR will reclaim the dog. All dogs will not be adopted out until they are up to date on shots, free of heartworms and intestinal parasites and altered, if six months of age or older. If a puppy is adopted, the adoption contract stipulates that the puppy must be altered by the time s/he turns 6 months old.
