Meet Marshall

Marshall is a Powderpuff Chinese Crested, with supposedly a tad bit of Yorkshire Terrier mixed in.  Marshall is 6-7 years old and weighs 13 pounds.  If you know the breed, Marshall has the typical body, long-legged and svelte.   Powderpuff Chinese Crested dogs are known for ‍their loving and affectionate temperament, and Marshall is the same.  They are extremely social and enjoy being around ‌people and other pets. This makes them great ‍companions as they thrive on human interaction. ‍ Marshall is gentle and endearing.   When it comes to training, Powderpuff Chinese Crested ‌dogs are intelligent and eager to please, making them relatively easy to train. Positive reinforcement methods, such as ‌rewards and praise, work best with this breed. They respond well to‌ gentle‍ and consistent ‍training and can quickly pick up on commands and tricks. However,‍ it’s important to be patient ‍and understanding, as they can be sensitive to ‌harsh training methods. Marshall is doing well on housetraining and is crate trained. Marshall tested positive for heartworms, so our vet observed clear chest x-rays, so he is not symptomatic.  We are treating him via the "slow kill" method which will be a year of Heartgard, which will be provided to his adopter.   If there is another dog in the home, it cannot be over 20 lbs.  If you meet the above criteria and live in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia or East Tennessee, please answer these questions and send a return email. WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD.  The secure fence must be at least 4 feet with gaps no larger than 2 inches and attached to the home.  An invisible fence, enclosed patio or terrace without grass, temporary fencing, dog pens or dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. If your fencing has "puppy pickets" (or is supplemented with garden fencing), it needs to be at least 36 inches high from the ground up AT THE LOWEST POINT. No exceptions. We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business days. Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, NC to meet the dog after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports. Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, bordetella, and rabies vaccines, and are professionally groomed. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing. Adoption Fee: $500
