Chanel came to us from partnering county's shelter swap, which is designed to increase adoptions for those who may have been overlooked previously, giving them a fresh new audience and new start! She was there since September, before coming to us and this 6 year old is not giving up hope and neither are we! When she first arrived to her original shelter she had sustained a broken leg prior to arrival and soon left for foster to recover. Recovery is always best in a home filled with love and TLC! Once she healed completely she returned to the shelter to continue her search for a family! She did great with other dogs both there, on field trips, and in foster! She is known to be sufficient at entertaining herself and does so with toys, when she is not sleeping. This sweet middle-aged girl doesn't really care for much of the wrestle-type playing that some dogs do and tends to be a 'grazer' when eating her dry kibble, with which she is perfectly content. Chanel is also one of those more serious-looking dogs who doesn't tend to smile allot, as our volunteer photographers discovered when taking her photo. ??However her tail wags are intense with happiness, so that makes up for her reluctance to smile. We did find a picture of her beautiful smile provided by her former shelter and had to share both! And honestly, after 9 months of being overlooked, smiles may be hard to come by... but we just KNOW that her perfect family is out there reading this right now!We agree with her previous caregivers and fosters of not understanding at all, why she has been overlooked for so long. This housebroken and low-maintenance girl gets along great with both other dogs and people, but we do not have information on her interactions with cats or children. Please come meet her in person to learn more about her! Make sure to ask for her as we are waiting for open kennels in adoption to move her into. We always recommend meet and greets with other dogs and children with whom our dogs will share a home and spend time, prior to adoption.
