Chatham Animal Rescue & Education

The mission of Chatham Animal Rescue & Education (CARE) is to promote the health and safety of all dogs and cats in Chatham County, NC. CARE foster caregivers provide loving, stable homes to homeless cats and dogs, helping them become the best possible pets for their future forever families. CARE works with the Chatham County Animal Shelter to save the lives of unwanted cats and dogs, manages feral cat colonies, and serves as an educational resource. CARE’s Lillie's Fund is a targeted spay/neuter program, subsidizing sterilization surgeries for pets owned by lower income families in Chatham County. CARE is a nonprofit animal welfare organization that has served the community since 1975 and relies on individual and corporate donors for support.

Meet Bella

Bella is a total sweetheart.  She simply adores to be with her people.  She gets along well with all of the people and dogs she has met, she is attentive and gentle to all.  She does love to race around the yard with the other large breed dog in her foster home, but she is also gentle with the small breed dogs too.  She would love a family that isn't gone for long hours, and that will include her in all of their fun- she adores to visit the local Lowe's Home Improvement.  Once she is secured in the back seat of the car, she rides like a pro.  She loves children, but would do best with children 6 years of age and older.   Bella is currently on a diet, she would do best with a home that will continue to provide appropriate exercise and food volume.  She is on her way to getting back to her optimum healthy weight.    Bella has been fully vaccinated, spayed and microchipped- all she needs is her forever family.

Adoption Process
Adoption application, vet check, reference check, home visit, $100 (cat) or $200 (dog).
