Pattie will melt your heart! Get it, Pattie-melt? ??This beautiful Australian cattle dog mix is quite nervous being here at the shelter, though she is trying so hard not to be! You see, she and four of her friends were just as free as the wind a few short days ago, doing as they pleased while out and about on their own. It wasn't until they came upon their finder's property when they moseyed on down the driveway, that their free-roaming adventure finally came to an end. Our Animal Control Officers went and wrangled in the group of adventure seeking cattle dogs, bringing them here as strays in hopes of finding their families. Sadly, none were reclaimed and are now searching for families.Fast forward to now and her new strange, loud and confined surroundings being at the shelter and you understand it is quite the 'culture shock' for her. She is still not sure about a leash and when meeting her new canine friend here, staff carried her to her destination. Once at the meeting, we caught her trying to sniff him out and see what he was all about when he wasn't looking! She allowed him sniffing her and even the attempted leash walking without any issues. We know her nervousness will diminish and her fear will do the same, the more comfortable she is in knowing she is safe. Our hope is that she will get to experience that sooner than later, in a home of her very own. If you are interested in meeting this super sweet and nervous girl, please come and learn all about her. Have staff to get her out of her kennel and allow her time to decompress and just be, for a few minutes. Pattie is going to be such the loyal and loving girl when her family gives her this chance, with patience and understanding. We just know that with the right family, she will be the Pattie melting all the hearts! We always recommend meet and greets with other dogs and children with whom our dogs will share a home and spend time, prior to adoption.
