At 10 years old, this hound mix has known more fear than comfort, more silence than kindness. When he arrived at the shelter after wandering alone, Walter shut down completely—curled in a corner, trembling at the faintest touch. A vet visit revealed painful testicular cancer, likely contributing to his suffering. Thankfully, surgery gave him relief, and slowly, physically, Walter began to heal.But his heart still hasn't caught up.Walter walks with hesitation, often pulling toward the woods, as if searching for the only life he's known. He flinches at affection, retreats into solitude, and keeps his soul tucked away—for now. What Walter needs isn't just a home—it's a lifeline. He needs someone patient, someone quiet, someone who understands that healing doesn't happen on a timeline.
