Meet Flounder

Location: Ohio Female cattle dog mix pup born 4/15/25. Hi guys! The shelter originally reported me as a male! Can you believe that? Me? Dainty little ole me? Anyway, I was named Flounder and foster Mom says she won’t change the name cuz my new family can pick a name that suits us all. Foster Mom has lots of good things to say about me! She loves my personality cuz I love everybody and everything. I’m never cross with other pups or chickens or kids. I just want to be friends & play. I really enjoy cuddles and belly rubs but I will take time out for my naps. I don’t need to be in the go all day long.  Foster Mom here. Flounder is delightful. Quick learner and easily redirected. She doesn’t have the sometimes undesirable cattle dog traits such as herding or ball obsession. She would be perfect for someone that wants to add to their fur family because she just wants to be friends with any size or temperament dog. My Golden’s tail is just a giant tug toy to Flounder but my cattle dog is a mentor, teaching her boundaries. My cats don’t interact with her, they are too cool for that so even tho she would love a game of tag, she pretty much just leaves them alone. Same with the chickens. And she just sits and watches my cattle dog bring the horses in. Like, why would any dog waste their energy running after something that isn’t going to play?  Flounder is crate trained and will sleep quietly all night. Not 100% house trained but she does have the basic idea. Puppy brain just might get distracted until it’s too late. Current on all vaccines, worming, heartworm & flea/tick prevention, and has microchip. Flounder is fostered in Salem Ohio and available for adoption thru ACDRA.
