MEET REX... He was beaten. Kicked. Abused in ways that should never happen to any living creature. We’ve seen the videos—and it stays with you. It makes you sick. It makes you angry. But the part that hurts the most? Rex has been sweet since the very beginning. He didn’t arrive growling. He didn’t shut down. He wagged his tail. He leaned in for pets. He looked up at us with big, hopeful eyes—still believing someone would be kind. That’s what breaks you. That even after everything… Rex never stopped being good. He came to us with awful stomach issues. He was anxious and uncomfortable—but still sweet. Still affectionate. And now, after finally figuring out what works for his body and his belly… Rex is ready for adoption! He is a total mush. A love sponge. A sweet soul who wants nothing more than to curl up next to someone and be told he’s safe now. That no one will ever hurt him again. Rex needs: *A home where he is the ONLY pet * An adult-only household or one with older, calm teens * An adopter 100% committed to his special diet * A patient person who can continue to help him with his training—Rex can sometimes get overstimulated, and he needs someone who understands how to guide him gently through those moments * A quiet, stable, love-filled home where he can finally live the soft life he was always meant to have Rex has survived the darkest parts of this world. But somehow, his heart is still full of light. Please—don’t let that light fade. Rex is currently housed in Wayne, NJ. If you are interested in adopting him or for more info, please contact Laura at 973-420-4633 NOTE: This pet is being shared by NorthStar Pet Rescue on behalf of another organization or individual and is not a NorthStar Pet Rescue dog. Adoption Process
Potential adopters will submit an adoption application. The adopters information will be screened including veterinary and personal references. After the first round of screening they will get the chance to meet the pet. If it is a good match, as deemed by NSPR volunteers, the adopter will complete an adoption contract and pay the fee of 375.00. All animals will be spayed/neutered and fully vetted prior to adoption. The only exception would be small puppies in which case the adopter will submit an additional deposit refundable upon proof of spay/neuter. In the event an animal is no longer wanted, the adoption contract will stipulate that the animal always gets returned to us, and is never sold, given away, or surrendered to another rescue or shelter.
